bite back // scratch away

I'm not a criminal!!
2003-08-11 at 8:51 p.m.

I've come to a startling realization: I think my parents don't understand me.

Hahaha, okay, now that I've gotten the attention of every single teenager out there, and consequently lost the attention of every single adult out there, let me elaborate.

I think the problem is... my parents think they understand me. But they don't.

Wave goodbye to all the other adults... bye adults. I'll miss you.

Anyway, this is the most cliched thing to say... ever. I know that. This is a humor journal, most of the time. So cliches are meant to be used. By me.

Anyway... I have a need for privacy, as many teenagers seem to develop. I do like to be alone. I don't like people going through my stuff.

That's one of the huge problems I have with this cleaning service that comes through our house every now and then. I don't want them in my room. And besides that, they don't do anything. Not in my room, anyway.

But I digress. Mom recently grabbed my backpack and started going through my notebooks. I freaked.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that there is NOTHING IN THERE that is even close to being incriminating or BAD or anything. Maybe a few doodles. Nothing I should care about mom seeing, right?

But when I freaked, she started thinking that I was hiding stuff in there. Like, porn, drugs, secrets to building a huge bomb, and so forth.

I know it makes me look untrustworthy to freak like that, but still... it just got to me. And now she just likes to go through it to drive me crazy.

Argh.

I'm not doing anything bad, I promise... but why can't they just leave my stuff alone??

I guess I'm just going to have to get over that fear... or just stop leaving my backpack out where she can find it. Ho hum.

I was actually a lot wittier when I first came up with this, but if you look, it took me 2 hours to write this. So I lost my train about 50 times. Sorry...
