Okay. Yeah... everyone remember the CSG? Or... Cool Shirt Guy?
Yeah. I went back to the restaurant tonight. Fun stuff. After debating in my head for a few moments, I decided to try the old method of, "Hey. Like your shirt." And... this is how I thought it would go:
Me: I like your shirt
Him:Thanks
Me: *nods, and runs away*
But no! Alas! It actually lasted longer. Stop and marvel!
Actually, you should be marvelling, because me? Talking to somebody I don't know? Very, very rare. At least, talking comfortably. I did feel comfortable.
So, anyway. Here's the conversation, word for word, well, kinda. Pulled from my memory, and I'm pretty good at this stuff.
Here goes:
Me: I like your shirt
Him: Thanks. *smiles* Everyone loves this shirt... *pause* I'm a master at collecting these... the shirts with sayings?
Me: Really?
Him: I have 77.
Me: *gawk* Wow. I... I like those shirts... I have a few. You have the one with "A superhero with no powers or motivation"?
Him: No.. *points* He does... I'm lookin' for it
Me: I found mine at Gadzooks.
Him: Ah... I don't go to the mall much. Mostly just shop at Kohl's.
And then I said a "me neither," and my little sister walked up and interrupted us.
Yeah. Um. I thought maybe anyone who signed the guestbook and offered advice or optimistic views might be interested in that little update.
He was very nice and easy to talk to. I liked it.
And, for the record: His shirt said, "Consciousness: That annoying time between naps."
I love that shirt. But mine is still better.
