RNC I'm watching the RNC as I type this, and yes, this will be a political speech. This guy who's talking, I don't even know who it is. Oh, I found out it's Patacky? Patacki? I don't know... but he's taking everything Kerry said about the War and Bush and blah blah bliddy blah and turning it on its head so that he can say Bush is better. Okay, yes, that's politics. But then he said in response to Kerry's "America should not go to war when it wants to, only when it has to" by saying that America did not choose this war. Firefighters and Policemen who went into the Twin Towers didn't choose the war, they were heroes in a war they didn't even know existed. And America did not choose this war, but we have a president who chooses to win it. A) (Saddamm + Osama) / 9-11 = Not Available B) Bush did freaking too choose this war. C) Firefighters and Policemen were doing their JOBS to help people. It's what they do as their chosen profession. They weren't fighting a war on terror, they were fighting a war on death and pain by doing all they could to save people. Okay. Anyway, I agree that Saddam is evil. I agree he should have been taken out of power. Sure. I'm just not sure where we draw the line right now. Are we going to be keeping our eyes open, searching for other countries where leaders are treating their people unjustly? Are we going to try and take over the world just so everyone can do things the way we do them? It doesn't work, just so you all know. But honestly... we haven't found the guy we first set out to find, and a war on "terror" is so vague, that it's scary. Is "terrorism" defined in our heads as malicious thoughts towards us? Towards other people? Malicious intent? Or just malicious mustaches? 'cause that's really about all we could prove about Saddam. Deep down, I think we shouldn't be doing this. First, we can't give Iraq democracy. Second... aw screw it, the Prez is talking. "I believe every child can learn, and I believe every school should teach." Duuuuh... what else should a school do? I love how when people give big speeches, they just make big "heartfelt" statements that consist of one or two sentences, then they pause for the big heapings of applause. The statements don't even promise anything. They're just... ego-boosters. Kerry did it too. It's just... ugh. Bush is running for President to make a safer world? Shouldn't someone tell him that he's only going to be President of the U.S. of A.? Meh. Whatever. I'm going to listen, and critique. Kerry's speech was pretty dumb too. <-Ghost-> |
