Those who fail history are doomed to repeat it in summer school. I'm trying to figure out how someone found my site by searching for "Ohio senators have said nice things about marriage." I mean, now they'll find it easy, but before? Weird. Happy Fourth O' July! YAY! Want some safe, non-singe-y, fireworks? Here you go! Aren't they pretty? Of course, there's no fire, so they're really just 'works. But hey. Cheap entertainment for you guys is all I can afford. At least I try. I finished 1066! YAY! I said I was going to finish it yesterday, and rolling in at around 11:40 at night, I did! I thought I was like almost done when I was on page 180...and then it turned out there were three more chapters. But it FINALLY ended. It was actually kind of enjoyable. But don't tell anyone. Heh. Actually, the thing about the book is, besides being English, it delves deeper into History. I care more about the people and their motives, and the true consquences of whatever happened. History books don't do that. History teachers (or the one's I've had) don't do that. That's why History is dull. It doesn't matter to me whether General Whatsahoozit held his camp at Fort Townville down by the Random River in 1440, when the Dum-Dum War started and wiped out their Fort Townville, and the war lasted 20 years. The places, dates, specifics... don't mean a thing to me unless they got that... er, not swing, sorry. Unless I care about the people, you're not going to get me to care about any of the rest of the story. So good luck. I think I'm going to read Oedipus now. Because I need a break from History. <-Ghost-> |
