I have a grudge against The Grudge

I saw The Grudge tonight, to add a shallow note to my incredibly "deep" entry previously. I... well, let's just say the Grudge was... awesomely bad.
It was funny in all the wrong ways. Everything that was supposed to be scary was predictable and rather humorous when "oh my God, they really did do that. How stupid did they think we were?" Yeah. You know that kind of thought.
And then there was the dialogue, or lack thereof.
Half of that movie was spent focusing on different characters being scared and breathing shakily. A quarter was the clickety clickety sound that all the dead people make. An eighth of it was just "scary" music, and the last eighth was mediocre lines delivered lamely.
It wasn't really the actors' faults for the lameness of the movie. It was their fault, as mom pointed out, for taking the job, but ugh. That movie was just stupid.
The Ring was much, much better.
I am disappointed in Sam Raimi.
